Billy Gene Hickman, 63, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, went home to his Lord on February 12, 2017, in Fayetteville. He was born on December 5, 1953, in Fayetteville to Henry and Carrie Hardin Hickman. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bobby Joe Hickman. Billy served in the Army & Army National Guard from 1972 to 1984 and was a Buck Sergeant E5 when he was discharged. He served in the 142nd Field Artillery as a meteorologist. He was involved in the Cuban Relocation project at Fort Chaffee while serving in the 142nd. Billy met his wife Candy in 1974 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma at the skating rink, and 2 weeks later they were married. They were married 42 years and raised 3 children together. He loved every one of his grandbabies. Billy is survived by his loving wife, Candy Hickman of Fayetteville; daughter, Salena Smith of Liberty, New York; two sons, Billy Hickman and his wife Karla of Owasso, Oklahoma and Scott Hickman and his wife Michelle of Fayetteville, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren, Mackenzie Hilburn, Shayna Smith, Kaylen Hickman, Steven Hickman, Keisha Hickman, Kiera Hickman, Michael Smith, Tristan Hickman, Hunter Hickman, Coby Hickman; five great-grandchildren, Travis Hickman, Brayden Hickman, Andrew Hilburn, Jaelyn Hickman, Vanessa Hickman; two brothers, Duane Hickman and his wife Lexie of Jacksonville, Arkansas and Rick Hickman and his wife Angela of Winslow, Arkansas; and many other family friends, and loved ones. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville at 10 a.m. Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. with burial at Rose Cemetery near Prairie Grove under the direction of Moore's Chapel Funeral Home.
