Doris H. Taplin lost her long battle with Alzheimer's disease and died peacefully on February 16, 2017 at the age of 89. She was born on January 7, 1928 in the Fairplay community. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Taplin; father, James (Jim) Floyd; mother, June Horn Floyd; sisters, Leota Warford, Verta Bridges, and Sarah Riggan; and brothers, Wesley and Leslie Floyd. She is survived by her son, Glenn Taplin and his wife Becky of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, Allison Taplin Thyng and husband John, of Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, Amanda Taplin Willett, and Ryan Taplin and wife Ashley, all of San Antonio, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Brandon Williams, Caden Willett, Cole Willett, Roe Taplin, and Madeline Bryan. Funeral service held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 20, 2017, Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas. Visitation held one hour prior to service.
