Sonny Lankford

Sonny Lankford, age 80, a resident of Fayetteville, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 in Fayetteville. He was born January 10, 1937 in Viney Grove, Arkansas, the son of William and Ella (Slaughter) Lankford. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers Lloyd, Buriel, Herman, Garland, Harold, J.D., Vernon, and Raymond; three sisters Lela Pense, Ethel Duncan and Beulah Lankford. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Glenda Tunnell Lankford; his daughter, Joyce Martin of Bella Vista; his son, Alan Lankford of Fayetteville; six grandchildren, Jason, Jeff, and Jaymeson Brown, Breigh Anne, Lindsey and Carter Lankford; three great-grandchildrenm, Alyson and Collin Brown and Aniya Lankford; one brother Lawrence Lankford; four sisters, Juanita Dollarhide, Jimmie Guthrie, Marie Ross, and Joan Pense and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2-3 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, February 20th, 2017, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove.
