Betty R. Cain

Betty R. Cain, 87, of Harrison, Ark., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017 at Mt. Vista Rehabilitation and Health Center surrounded by family, friends and loving caretakers. She was born on March 28, 1929 in Birmingham, Ala., the daughter of John H. and Aline Robertson. Betty was a retired school teacher. She taught for over 35 years at Eudora, Montrose, Ross Van Ness and Lake Village, all in southeast Arkansas. She was a former member of Scott Memorial United Methodist Church of Eudora, Ark., and a current member of First Presbyterian Church in Harrison, Ark. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Cain, Jr. They were married for 49 years. Survivors include her children. Sandy and Mike McFalls of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Blair and Rex Guynn of Harrison, Ark.; and Dr. James E. Cain, III of Lampasas, Texas. She had seven grandchildren; Hayzen and his wife Desiree Guynn of Fayetteville, Ark.; Becca and her husband Andy Davis of Fayetteville, Ark.; Jay Lively of Springfield, Va.; Ben McFalls of Wilmington, N.C.; Kate McFalls of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and Claire and Emily Cain of Lampasas, Texas. She had three great-grandchildren, Jett and Luca Guynn of Fayetteville, Ark.; and Kate Davis of Fayetteville, Ark. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Wheless of Birmingham, Ala. Nephews and nieces who survive her are Joe Wheless of Panama City, Fla., Johnny Wheless of Birmingham, Ala.,and Pat Burleson of Birmingham, Ala., and their families; Steve Savage and family of Columbia, Mo., and Wayne Savage of Washington D.C. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eudora, Ark., with Rev. D.C. Adams officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt.
