PERRY GRAVITT JR. of North Little Rock, passed away on Feb. 17, 2017 at the age of 82. Perry was born on June 19, 1934 in Paden, Okla., where he graduated high school. He worked for DuPont Automotive Refinish for 20 years as a territory salesman. In 1976, Perry and his first wife Lillis purchased Hackman Paint & Supply Co. Inc. in Little Rock, Ark. Perry and his family expanded the company by opening stores in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas. He was selected North American Paint Wholesaler of the Year for Akzo-Nobel. Perry enjoyed working alongside his family building his company. He loved house boating along the Arkansas River, watching classic western movies, listening to country music, Dallas Cowboys, and Arkansas Razorbacks. A perfect weekend for Perry was entertaining family and friends on his house boat. He lived life to the fullest and was of Baptist faith. Perry is survived by his current wife JoAn Love Gravitt of North Little Rock; son Danny (Linda) Gravittof Roland, Ark.; grandson Eric Gravitt of Roland, Ark.; stepson Danny (Lisa) Love of Maumelle, Ark.; stepdaughter Debbie Love of North Little Rock, Ark.; two brothers Alfred Gravitt of Duncanville, Texas, and Jim Gravitt of Choctaw, Okla.; one sister, Mary Bell of Midwest City, Okla.; and one brother-in-law, Willis (Joy) Lokey of Prague, Okla., and numerous other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Lillis Lokey Gravitt, daughter Susan Gravitt Carroll, parents Perry and Lecie Gravitt; three brothers Troy Gravitt, J.E. Gravitt, and Raymond Gleason; four sisters, Susie Collins, Mable McLain, Betty Georgelas, and Wanda June Gravitt, and one sister-in-law, Olena Lokey Gleason Walker. The family would like to extend special thanks to the compassionate doctors, nurses, and staff of Hospice Home Care of Little Rock, Ark. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017. His celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, both services at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th St., Little Rock, Ark. 72204.
