Margary Helen Elizabeth Traylor Jones was called home to heaven on February 19, 2017. She was born to the late Bill and Mary Traylor of Moro, Arkansas on October 25, 1927. Margie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Charles (Bunny) Jones. They spent 46 years as inseparable sweethearts, enjoying family, friends and football. Margie spent most of her married life in Little Rock. One of the greatest joys of her life was working with the Worthen Bank family. She began her career of over 30 years as a teller, standing on a wooden box to be tall enough to assist her customers. Eventually, her winning personality and responsible ethics enabled her to leave the savings department and become a vice-president. This was more than a job; it was a place where lasting friendships were forged. In 1962, Bunny and Margie joined First Baptist Church where they faithfully served the Lord. Margie was a greeter for the family life center and, appropriately, a Monday-morning money-counter. Even through her dementia, she would burst into prayer about how good the Lord had been to her. She could sing the old hymns and quote favorite verses right up to her last days, always expressing an attitude of gratitude for God's rich blessings on her life. She was truly a "social butterfly." She knew people everywhere; shopping took far too long because she had to "visit." The Garden Club and Frankie's luncheon group added to her people pleasure. Her wit and sense of humor were enjoyed by her neighbors with whom she shared meals and goodies with a sincere smile and true concern. She had the gift of giving. Christmas meant Rum Cakes for all! Margie was greatly loved by those she left behind. Brothers, Pete Traylor and Joel Traylor preceded her in death. Her three brothers are Bill and Viola Traylor, Sidney and Marilyn Traylor, and Drury and Garnette Traylor. Her three sisters are Lillie Campbell, Jewel Higgins, and Ceil Ballinger. They gave her many wonderful nieces and nephews. Teresa and Russel Owen, neighborhood care-givers after Bunny's passing, are now adopted family. Her beloved granddaughter, Dori Elizabeth and Brandon Smith, gave her three great-grandsons: Trafton, Crosston and Graceson. She loved her daughter and son-in-love, Nancy and David Cone, for whom her affection had no bounds. Margie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. We will all miss her generous support and encouragement, but not for long. Visitation will be Saturday, February 25 at 11 a.m., followed by the funeral celebration at 12:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Little Rock. zIn lieu of flowers, please send remembrances to First Baptist Church, 62 Pleasant Valley Dr., Little Rock, Ark. 72212. Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., (501) 224-2200. Margie's online guestbook may be signed at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.
