Vera Blankenship Barton

Vera Blankenship Barton 91, formerly of Bryant, Ark., passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 15, 2017. For the past two years, she had resided with her only son, Michael Blankenship and daughter-in-law Glenda. Survivors also include grandchildren, Shayne Blankenship of Houston and Heather Abbott of Dallas, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and friends who loved her dearly. She was truly a beautiful person, in every way possible. In addition to her parents, Earl and Criner Newton, she was preceded in death by sisters, Fay Box, Valeria Edwards, and Geneva DeWitt of Sikeston, Mo., and Earlidean Phillips and Sallie Matthews of Little Rock, Ark., and brothers, Hartzell and Austin Newton of Sikeston, Mo. A celebration of her life will be held at #2 Menden Lane, Little Rock, Ark., at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 4.
