Carlos T. Gay, 81, of Hot Springs, went to join the Lord on Dec. 30, 2016. He was born on Oct. 29, 1935 in Chipley, Fla., to the late Theo and Nella Rae Gay. Carlos is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 59 years, Billie Lynne Lewis Gay; the love of his life. Daughters who loved him dearly, Cherrye Aylett (Fred), Pamela Gay, Deborah Brady (Don), Jennifer Willis (Scott) and grandchildren, Hannah Schultz, LCpl Caleb Sherrill, Chloe Aylett and brother, Exell Pearson (Velma) of Bonifay, Fla. Last but certainly not least, "Dudley", his Australian Shepherd, whom Daddy loving referred to as "He's my Buddy, my Pal and my Friend." Carlos served in the United States Air Force, was a Proud Veteran and loved his Country. He retired from the Veterans Administration in Biomedical Engineering and was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Our family would like to express our deepest appreciation to Arkansas Hospice for the love, care and compassion they have shown and shared. We would like to especially thank Michelle Clendenin, RN for her attention and devotion, Dr. Martin Koehn and all the wonderful aides that cared for him so lovingly. We have been very blessed for God to have shared Carlos as husband and father. There is a vacancy in our hearts with his passing but a joy knowing he is with our Lord. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home, Hot Springs. A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Bro. Tom Brown officiating. Private interment will be at Crestview Memorial Park in Hot Springs, Ark. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Arkansas Hospice.
