Dixie Louise Herrington Fink, age 82, passed Thursday morning January 5, 2017 to be with her Lord. She was born on March 31, 1934 in Quitman, Louisiana. Dixie grew up in the rural areas of northern Louisiana. When she was eighteen her family moved to North Little Rock, Arkansas where she met her husband, Jimmy Harold Fink. They made North Little Rock and the Scott area their home for most of the 59 year they were married until his passing in October 2013. Dixie was a devoted wife and mother, always making her family a priority in her life. True to her unique and strong nature, she passed with peace and dignity after several years of poor health. Living out her faith was an important part of her everyday life. She loved her church family at North View Missionary Baptist Church. Dixie was a loving mother to Cindy, who died at the age of 12; Sandra O'Neal, husband Dale; and Jim Fink, wife Lisa. She was the grandmother of Amanda Bearden, husband Josh; Lori Covert; Jill Sanden, husband Alan; and James Matthew Fink, wife Katie. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; Triton, Carter, Camden, Gracie, Lainey, Lexington and Owen. Dixie is survived by one brother, Finis George Herrington. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Armor Carlton and Georgie Herrington; her brother Bob Herrington; and her sisters Genoma Hawthorne and Edna Blalock. She leaves behind a host of friends including those in her church family, as well as nieces and nephews. The family is grateful to the Rehab and Nursing Center at Good Shepherd Communities in Little Rock for the care and support given to Dixie in the last months and to North View Baptist Church for the many cards, calls and visits. We take comfort in knowing God has been and is gracious to our mother as she now resides in His presents. Visitation will be Friday, January 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. and services Saturday, January 7, at 2 p.m., both at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock. Interment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Online guestbook is available at www.griffinleggettresthills.com.
