Helen Gaunt

Helen Spillyards Gaunt, 86, of Little Rock, died Monday, January 9, 2017. Born Norma Helen Spillyards July 3, 1930 in Pine Bluff, she was the daughter of Dr. J.S. and Bernice Alline Frey Spillyards. Mrs. Gaunt was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School. After working for her dad for several years in Pine Bluff, Mrs. Gaunt moved to Little Rock, where she worked for Kempner's ladies shop and later retired as the manager of Feinstein's. She was a member of Pulaski Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Gaunt was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Gaunt; three brothers, Joseph Lynn Spillyards, Jessie Spillyards and John Spillyards; and sister, Alline Ross. Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Spillyards of Little Rock and Josephine Spillyards of Dallas, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private at a later date by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors of Pine Bluff (online register: www.ralphrobinsonandson.com). Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
