Karen Elizabeth "Liz" Masching (29) peacefully drew her final breath on January 8th, 2017, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville after being taken suddenly by pneumococcal pneumonia. She was born on April 1, 1987 and raised in Little Rock, the daughter of Terry and Rebecca Masching. Liz was a graduate of Central High School and a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Fascinated with cutting-edge fashion, she pursued a career as a hair stylist, makeup artist, and for a time owned a boutique in Fayetteville. She was in the process of opening her own salon at the time of her passing. Liz expressed her faith quietly, through small acts of kindness. On cold mornings, she was seen offering hot chocolate to strangers waiting at bus stops. She was known to take her lunch breaks to purchase clothing for those in need. One of Liz's favorite passions was partnering with Officer Tommy Norman in making a difference in the lives of children in North Little Rock. Liz's warm and open nature endeared her to all who knew her. She is survived by mother, Rebecca Masching, father and stepmother, Terry and Karen Masching, grandmother, Audrey Henry, siblings, Mary Masching Bell and John Masching, and her many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. She also leaves behind her dear companion, Chris Weaver of Russellville. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 11th at Ruebel Funeral Home at 6313 W. Markham Street from 4 until 7 p.m The funeral service will be officiated by Fr. Nicholas Verdaris at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1100 Napa Valley Drive in Little Rock, Ark. 72211 at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 12th. A private burial service will follow.
