Willie E. Tullos, 101, of Wilmot, passed from this life Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017. Mrs. Tullos was a native of the Beech Creek Community outside of Hamburg and a resident of the Dry Bayou Community outside of Wilmot since 1941. She was a homemaker and she and her husband owned and operated Tullos' Grocery Store for many years. She was a member of the Wilmot United Methodist Church. She dearly loved her family and was known as Mooney to her grandchildren. Her favorite holidays were Thanksgiving and Easter when all her children and grandchildren would gather at her home to celebrate with her. She thought that there was never a better time to have a fish fry than Easter. She was an avid gardener and her yard was her passion. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie M. Tullos in 1969; a son, Melvin "Sonny" Tullos in 1999; her parents, Hurley and Merle Horn McKee and two brothers, Ovis and Othor McKee. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Boman and Martha West and husband, Pierce; a son, Joe Tullos and wife, Linda; a sister, Merle Myers all of Wilmot; the loves of her life her 12 grandchildren, Glenn and Gene Strong both of Sheridan, Gail Short and husband, Rick, of Romance, Ginger Ellison and husband, Lance, of Oden, Sonya Barfield and husband, Jon, of Hamburg, Leslie Mayo and husband, Jeff, of Magnolia, Laura Armstrong of Conway, Julia Gildon and husband, Cody, of Maumelle, Ben Tullos and wife, Cheryl, of Benton, Dan Tullos and wife, Elizabeth, of Russellville, Les Tullos and wife, Anna, of Bastrop, Louisiana and Doug Tullos and wife, Brandy, of Kilbourne, Louisiana; 26 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Wilmot Cemetery. Pallbearers are Glenn Strong, Gene Strong, Les Tullos, Doug Tullos, Ben Tullos and Dan Tullos. Memorials may be made to the Wilmot United Methodist Church, PO Box 338, Wilmot, Ark. 71676. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., Monday in the funeral home chapel. The family would like to thank Ashley County Home Health and Hospice Home Care of Monticello for the loving care given to our Mother and Grandmother.
