Melvin D. McCall, 85, of Little Rock passed away Monday, January 16, 2017. He was born July 21, 1931 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Garland and Martha McCall. He was a SMSgt. and veteran of the Korean War, with 43 years of service with the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard. Melvin, an avid Arkansas Razorback fan, loved traveling, going on cruises, and working in his yard. He began a new journey of love when he married his wife Annette Ulmer McCall in 2011. He is also survived by his children, Richard McCall (Lyndee), Steve McCall (Tracy), Karen Cochran (Guy) and Gary McCall; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Kathy Stolzer (Tim), Mark Ulmer (Jeanna), and Matt Ulmer; nine step-grandchildren, fifteen step-great-grandchildren, siblings, Bobby McCall, Bill McCall, Martha Schoneboom (Curt) and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 57 years, Marilyn McCall; son, Patrick McCall; and sister, Sarah Sommers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in North Little Rock.
