Jane Audrey Vance Rainey

Jane Audrey Vance Rainey passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the age of 70. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald "Don" Jake Rainey of Maumelle, Ark.; her brother, Jim Vance, and parents, Ross Jennings Vance and Audrey Sarah Pierce Vance, of Dardanelle, Ark. She will be greeted in heaven by her beloved Yorkie, Cocoa, who recently passed away. Jane is survived by two daughters: Stephanie Rainey Pritt, wife of Scott Pritt, of La Vernia, Texas and Debbie Rainey Knight of Maumelle. She was affectionately called "Nana" by friends, family and her three surviving grandchildren: Carter Pritt of Dallas, Texas; Mallory Pritt of San Marcos, Texas; Coleman Knight of Maumelle and her brother David Frank Vance of Russellville. In addition, she is survived by her extended family: Shane, Amy and Claire Knight of Maumelle. Jane graduated from Dardanelle High School in 1964 and shortly thereafter married Don Rainey of Altheimer, Ark., on August 21, 1965. She attended Arkansas Teachers College, now UCA, in Conway, Ark. Jane and Don spent the majority of their married life in Pine Bluff, AR before moving to Maumelle to spend more time with their extended family. Jane enjoyed her swimming pool for many years and managed to never get her head wet because of her fear of swimming. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching all sports on TV, but her greatest enjoyment was watching golf. The Masters was by far her favorite sporting event. Her days were filled spending time with her family and her beloved pets: Rainey (Snorkie) and Piper (Cat). And, most days you could find her coloring, a recent developed passion of hers. Debbie Knight and Stephanie Pritt will host an event in memory of their mother on Thursday, January 19 from 5 till 7 p.m. for family and friends at the home of Debbie Knight. Interment will be held at Bryant's Cove Cemetery in Casa, Ark. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memorial to Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Ark. or to the charity of your choice.
