Ada Jean Ambort

ADA JEAN AMBORT, 84, of North Little Rock, passed away Jan. 20, 2017. She was born Feb. 13, 1932, in Hermitage, Ark., to Ray and Ruth Neal. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph L. Ambort, Sr., a brother, Ray Neal, Jr. and a sister, Patsy Dempsey. Jean was the Controller for the Episcopal Diocese of Arkansas for nearly 20 years. She was previously the accountant for the Leo J. Ambort & Sons, Inc. and the Little Rock Tomato Company and also was involved for many years with the Bradley County Tomato Association. Jean was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church and also volunteered at the North Little Rock Memorial Hospital. She is survived by two children, Cynthia Ambort Latourette of Memphis, Tenn. and Steven Neal Ambort of London, England; two grandchildren, Adelaide Ambort and Madeleine Ambort, both of London and Chicago; a sister, Tommie Mitchell of North Little Rock; and by her special and longtime caregiver, Ann Heuck of North Little Rock. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 10a.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 West 12th Street, Little Rock, The Rev. Ed Wills, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Arkansas, 201 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205.
