Sarah Katherine Gullett Brown, 82, of Stuttgart went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017. Katherine was born on Nov. 2, 1934 in Hattieville, Ark., to the late William James Gullett and Chloe Craig Gullett. After the death of both parents at age three, she and her siblings were taken into foster care by different family members to be raised separately. Katherine was raise by Lewis and Mary Curtis of Hector, Ark. She married Floyd Brown on March 18, 1953. They moved to Stuttgart in 1968 where they raised their family. She enjoyed painting, bird-watching and shopping at thrift stores. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church of Stuttgart. Katherine loved her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by her family. Katherine is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Brown; sisters, Lois Jewel Gullett, and Bobbye (James) Osborn; brothers, Grady Gullett, Jimmy Doyle Gullett, and Ray Curtis. She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Guernsey of Stuttgart; two sons Terry (Faith) Brown of Benton and Darren (Tricia) Brown of Stuttgart; grandchildren, Will (Mandy) Gibbs of Greenwood, Valerie (Cody) Gibbs Bivens of Stuttgart, Harper (Kameron) Hammer of Benton, Hannah Brown of Benton and Haley and Dylan Brown of Stuttgart; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Willa Dean Noland of Morrilton, and brothers Billy (Sarah) Gullett of Oppelo and Harold "Waynie" (Patsy) Curtis of Pottsville and a number of nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service at Pinecrest Cemetery in Alexander, Ark., on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017 at noon. The family would like to thank the staff of Mt. Carmel Community and Heartland Care Center of Benton and Saline Memorial Hospice of Bryant. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Saline Memorial Hospice or the Salvation Army.
