Gary L. Moore

Gary L. Moore passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at the 7 Springs Rehabilitation and Health Center, Heber Springs, Ark. Gary was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on January 27, 1936 to the late Lloyd V.and Geraldine (Smith) Moore. He grew up in Conway, Ark. and was raised by his grandparents, J.D. and Rosa Jane (Fulkerson) Smith. He is also preceded in death by his Aunt Maurine Milam and Great Uncles AD and ED Fulkerson. Gary graduated from Conway High School, attended a semester at Normal Teachers College (now UCA) then enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was trained as a Missile Technician and stationed at Oxnard Air Force Base, Calif. Gary graduated from Little Rock University and then pursued a career in banking retiring from the Federal Home Loan Bank, Dallas Texas. Gary is survived by his wife Kathleen (Kathy) of 58 years; sons: Keith Moore and John Moore (Annette) Greenbrier, Ark.; daughters, Barbara Lee and Lisa Moore Los Angeles, Calif. Mr. Moore is also survived by granddaughters, Sara Lee Buck (Jeremy) Los Angeles. Calif.; Laura Akin Kalaf (Jonathan) Rogers, Ark., Brooklyn Moore and Olivia Moore, Greenbrier, Ark.; three great-grandsons: Brandon, Devon and Lucas Buck, one step-grandson, Josh Hill, Conway, Ark. and one great-granddaughter, Natalie Ann Kalaf. He was a member of the Heber Springs Christian Church. A Memorial Service will be held at the Heber Springs Christian Church, 1101 N. Broadway, Heber Springs, Ark. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 2 p.m. Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed! Any donations may be made to the Heber Springs Christian Church or to the Arkansas Alzheimer's Research Assoc.
