Nancy Bullard Sink

Mrs. Nancy (Bullard) Sink of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at the age of 88. She was born February 18, 1928, in Oil Trough, Arkansas, the daughter of Dennis Louis and Esther Lee (Pelley) Bullard. Miss Nancy Bullard traveled to Washington, DC, and worked in the Pentagon, when her brothers headed off to fight in World War II. Upon returning home, she returned to Newport High School where she was crowned Homecoming Queen and graduated in 1948. Nancy married Mr. Ralph Ford Sink on July 27, 1950, and she began performing with him and with Gardner Benedict Orchestra as a singer and later on with the local band The Townsmen. Nancy and Ralph settled back in Newport, where they farmed and started their family in 1952. Nancy's passion was real estate. She and Ralph formed Sink Realty in 1960 where they worked side by side for over 50 years. Nancy loved Newport, and spent her spare time participating in the Newcomers Club, volunteering for the Chamber of Commerce, and being active in The Service League. She loved all types of music, entertaining and cooking. She was known for her style and poise. She loved making people feel welcome and at home no matter where she was. She had a quality of making an impact on everyone she met. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Newport, where she became an Elder in 1990. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ralph Ford Sink, on December 22, 2010; five brothers, Jimmy Bullard, Hugh Bullard, Bill Bullard, Gerald Bullard, and Sonny Bullard; and her parents. Mrs. Sink is survived by three children, John Ralph Sink II, of Arlington, Texas, Greg Sink and wife, Nancy, of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Melissa "Missy" Sink Watson and husband, Nathan, of Arlington, Texas; nine grandchildren, Christi Sink, Bubba Sink and wife, Alison, Jennifer Vicari and husband, Nick, Laura Elizabeth Shannon and husband, Greg, Jordan Sink, Cate Sink, Dr. Nathan Watson and wife, Vicki, John Watson and wife, Sharon, and Jim Watson and wife, Sandy; her great-grandchildren, Wesley, Taryn, Clayton, Brynlee, Nathan, Josh, Jacob, Ben, Rachel, Langstyn, Asher, Kelsey, Morgan, Tyler, and Ryan; a large extended family; and a lifetime of friends. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Friday, 6-8 p.m. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, with Mr. Dinny Bullard officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. A special thank you to Annie Sullivan for being her angel on earth during the final years of her life.
