Mildred Fra Smith of Rogers passed away on July 20, 2017. She was born on November 7, 1923 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to the late Horace Greely Denison and Myrtle Edward Davis Denison. Mildred, or Mick as she was also known, had a supportive family and group of friends who loved her. She will be remembered sitting behind the desk at Mildred's Tax Service, making a pie or a casserole (to which she often added a can of Rotel), sewing or reading. She had a sweet, grateful, generous spirit and will be missed by all who knew her. Mick was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lemuel Adner Smith; sister, Betty Ashmore; brother, Bud Denison; and daughter, Ginny Lee Cheek. Survivors include her son, Dennis (Paula) Rasmussen of Lowell; daughter, Betty Anne (Ray) Easley of Rogers; son-in-law, David Cheek; grandchildren, Dena Corbino, Chad (Destinie) Rasmussen, Kris Sullivan, Amy (Chip) Bemis, Jeremy (Joseph Rabe) Cheek, Cody (Candis Green) Noland, Eric (Laura Hunter) Noland, Patrick (Madeline Wielgus) Noland; great-grandchildren, Hunter (Tara Jo) Corbino, Taylor Gilbert, Gianna Corbino, Faran Rasmussen, Jessica Sullivan, Aaron Sullivan, Shiloh Bemis, Benjamin Bemis, Kessiah Bemis, Oliver Bemis; sister, Joyce Klein; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her friends, fellow tax consultant and phone buddy Marie Lockhart; her friend since childhood Hazel Hight; and her oldest Arkansas friend Mary Fields; Dona Barnett and the Elm Springs Sewers and Quilters; and her clients and co-workers who became dear friends. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 23 at Elm Springs First United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m at the church. Burial will follow in Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers. Memorials may be made to Elm Springs United Methodist Church or Circle of Life Hospice. Thank you to Circle of Life Hospice staff for your compassionate care during this last year of her life.
