Carson Scott Cato, 18, passed away July 21, 2017. Born in Little Rock on July 21, 1999, he was an excellent student and athlete who excelled in soccer and cross-country and who loved mathematics. Carson enjoyed playing his euphonium (baritone) in the marching band. He attended Bryant Public Schools, and graduated from the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts in Hot Springs. He was well-known for his unique sense of humor and his infectious smile. Carson is survived by his parents, Kelly Cato of Alexander and Lori Clark of Bryant; grandparents, Shirley Cato of Jonesboro, Larry and Chris Harvey of Hot Springs and Nancy Clark of Bryant; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends who adored him. Services will be held on Thursday, July 27 at 10 a.m. at Midtowne Church, 4037 Boone Road in Benton, officiated by Rev. Jason Ferguson of First Christian Church of Sherwood and Rev. Doug Pruitt. A reception will follow the service. Instead of flowers, cards would be much appreciated. Memorials may be made in Carson's memory to the ASMSA Foundation Residential Student Support Fund, 200 Whittington Ave., Hot Springs, Ark 71901.
