Florence Claudia Halinski, age 90, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully, July 22, after a long battle with Alzheimer's, which had progressed over many years, but ultimately took her from us. This however, never affected her beautiful soul. Her sweetness and selflessness endured for the span of her life to bless family, friends and all she encountered. She will be missed by all of us but loved and remembered eternally by each. Florence was born June 19, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Joseph and Agnes Ciesla and was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Richard T. Halinski and a son, Richard T. Halinski, Jr. She is survived by daughters, Pamela Johnson (Randy), Karen McGoogan (Mike), Elizabeth Ovington (Jim), and sons, David Halinski (Jolynda) and Robert Halinski; daughter-in-law, LaDonna P. Halinski; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. For most of her life she focused her love and caring as a wife and mother. After she raised her six children, she decided to enter the work force in retail sales; first at Sears in Little Rock and later at Macy's in Atlanta where she was recognized multiple times for sales acumen achieved through the same kind and unassuming personality she maintained throughout her life. After retirement both she and her husband moved back to Little Rock to be closer to family. Visitation and rosary will be prayed Thursday July 27, from 5-6:30 p.m. at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas. A mass of Christian burial will be July 28, at Christ the King Church, 4000 North Rodney Parham Road, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Luke Womack presiding. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to express their utmost gratitude to the staff of Highlands of North Little Rock; especially Doris, Janice and Ashley, who cared for her as if she was their own. The family similarly acknowledges Clarissa from a previous facility and the staff of Kindred Hospice Care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Arkansas, Catholic High School or Mt. St. Mary's Academy. Online guestbook www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/chenal.
