Emogene Allen, 87, of Gurdon, Ark. passed away Wednesday July 26th, 2017 at Twin Rivers Health & Rehabilitation in Arkadelphia, Ark. Emogene was born January 20, 1930 to Charlie and Idy Mae (Taylor) Hasley in Richwood, Ark. She was a Bookkeeper, Secretary and House wife as well as a member of First United Methodist Church of Gurdon. Emogene was a Member of the "Road Hogs", she loved traveling, camping, playing cards as well as cooking. She was a renowned hostess and cook. All loved to eat at Nana & Papa's. Emogene was preceded in death by her parents and 11 siblings (three sisters and eight brothers). Emogene is survived by her husband, Charles L. "Buddy" Allen of 69 years, one son, James R. (Karen) Allen of Hot Springs, Ark. and one daughter, Marianne (Paul) Roe of Arkadelphia, Ark., four grandchildren, Jennilyn (Brandon) Stone, Brooks (Amy) Allen, Chris (Shelly) Roe, Sarah (Steve) Reagin, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be, Saturday, July 29th, 2017, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Pharr Funeral Home of Gurdon. Funeral services will be, Sunday, July 30th, 2017 at 3 p.m., at Beech Street Baptist Church in Gurdon with Rev. Robert Hasley officiating with interment to follow in Rose Hedge Cemetery, Gurdon, Ark., under the direction of Pharr Funeral Home of Gurdon.
