Charlie Williams

CHARLIE WILLIAMS, 82, of Jacksonville, native Pennsylvanian, left this life May 30, 2017, surrounded by loving family members. Mr. Williams spent the bulk of his working life in the printing business. But the essence of his life was his constant gregariousness, ample good will, and staunch patriotism. All of these virtues were particularly showcased in inspiring fashion across the past 18 years as he suffered from the effects of a massive stroke. Defying all medical odds, Charlie lived to be 82 years of age. He was preceded in death by the parents he loved, William and Florence Williams, of Wilkes-Barre, Penn. Charlie is survived by his devoted wife of 60 plus years, Helen, whom he met as an Air Force serviceman stationed in Jacksonville in 1956. As well, his son Guy, daughter in-law Susan, and granddaughters Katherine Rietzl and Kara Williams, son-in-law Paul Rietzl, all of Scottsdale, Arizona. A grandson, Ryan Williams, and daughter-in-law Hailey, of Tulsa, Okla. A daughter Kim and son-in-law Scott Wilkinson, of Elko, Nev. A son, Tim, of Los Angeles, Calif. Surviving him too are his brother Barry Williams and wife Jeanne, and sister Janet, all of Wilkes-Barre, Penn. Charlie served in the Unites States Air Force, 1953-1957. A proud veteran, his will be a military funeral and will take place Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 5 p.m., at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home & Crematory (501) 982-2136. A dinner to commemorate his life will follow for family and friends at Southern Oaks Country Club, 701 Foxwood Drive, Jacksonville, Ark. There were many people Mr. Williams met in life who insisted, "that's one of the nicest guys I've ever met." They were all correct. Sign online guestbook at www.mooresjacksonvillefuneralhome.com.
