JoeAnne Barnett

JoeAnne Barnett, age 76, of Fayetteville passed away at her home Saturday May 27, 2017. She was born Feb. 19, 1941 in Norman, Okla., to Dr. Joseph and Helen Thuringer. JoeAnne attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Fayetteville and graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1959. She later received both her Bachelor and Master's degrees in education from the University of Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Aliene Thuringer Sanders. For 37 years JoeAnne taught fourth grade at Butterfield and Vandergriff Elementary Schools in Fayetteville. She is survived by her husband Johnny Gonzales; daughter, Stephanie Boss Krupka and her husband Dr. Michael Krupka of Rogers, Ark.; son, Michael Boss and his wife Carolyn of Branson, Mo.; four grandchildren, Clayton Campbell, Dr. Curtis Campbell, Kayleigh Boss, Cameron Boss and one great-granddaughter, Madison Campbell. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville. Committal service will be noon Friday June 9, 2017 at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville. A drop in memorial life celebration will be 4:30–6:30 p.m. Friday following the committal service at Mermaids, 2217 North College Avenue, Fayetteville, Ark. 72703.
