John Preston Clark, age 83, of Wynne, formerly of Caldwell, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 8, 2017. Mr. Clark was born May 14, 1934. He was the second son of Hugh Moore Clark and Jimmie Marie Hughes Clark. He grew up in Caldwell, Ark., where he lived most of his life. In 1953, he graduated from Forrest City High School and was president of his senior class. He married Joyce Lindsey on October 29, 1955. Mr. Clark joined the Army National Guard and spent time in Fort Chaffee, where he developed a deep love for his country. He joined his brother, Lewis, and became a partner in Clark's Super Service. They enjoyed a successful business until their retirement. He found great pleasure serving the community. Serving his friends was only surpassed by his love for his family. He was a faithful follower of Christ, served as Deacon at First Baptist Church of Caldwell, and was a Gideon. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Clark; three daughters, Gina Clegg, and husband, Tony, of Colt, Kim Dillard of Wynne, and Jan Perkins, and husband, Michael, of Little Rock, six grandchildren, Preston Clegg (Rebecca), Dustin Clegg (Beth), Clark Dillard (Carly), Kathryn Pruiett (Trey), Ryan Perkins (fiance Callie Smith), and Riley Perkins; five great-grandchildren, Laynie, Selah, Jud, Paxton, and Truett Clegg. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, and his son-in-law, Steve Dillard. Services for Mr. Clark will be held at First Baptist Church of Caldwell, 2 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2017, with burial in Lindsey Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, 6-8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Caldwell, P.O.
