Richard Scott Fields

Richard Scott Fields, age 70 of Maumelle, Ark., departed this life, Saturday, June 3, 2017 after a long hard battle with pancreatic cancer. Scott was born in Grove, Okla., July 29, 1946. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Wichita, Kan., where he attended Wichita High School and Wichita State University where he also won a State Medal for Gymnastics. Later Scott attended the United States Air Force and proudly served his military duty. He returned from overseas and was a businessman in all sense of the word, owning and operating Contract Floors, Inc., a commercial flooring company for years and two billiard parlors. He loved life and he loved his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years in marriage, Shirley Faye Carter Fields. One son, Jason Scott Fields, and daughter, Kelley Michelle Fields, two grandchildren, Faith Mikaela Redman and Branden Carter Fields, two brothers, Steve Fields and Jeff (Linda) Fields of Wichita, Kan., nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. Memorial Services will be held at Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Ave., North Little Rock, Ark. 72120, at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 13, 2017. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery Beautification Foundation, P.O. Box 6648, Sherwood, Ark. 72124,(ARVETCEMETERY.ORG); Arkansas Hospice-Inpatient Unit, St. Vincent, 2 Saint Vincent Circle, Little Rock, Ark. 72205. This Inpatient unit had the BEST caregivers that our family has ever experienced. We would also like to thank Ms. Jean Eason of Hubble Funeral Home for her care and assistance. The family truly appreciates the kind words, thoughts and prayers of everyone that knew Scott. He will be missed by many.
