Lisa Buckner, 56, of Cross Plains, Tennessee went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 12, 2017. She was the daughter of Albert and June Mahfouz of Dermott, Arkansas. Lisa received her early education from Dermott, Bellaire Academy and Monticello schools, graduating in 1977 from Monticello High School. She received her Bachelor's degree from University of Arkansas at Monticello and graduated from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock with a degree in nuclear medicine. She worked as a nuclear medicine technician at the University Medical Center in Lebanon, Tennessee, until her illness in 2016. Lisa was a member of Cornerstone Church in Madison, Tenn. Lisa enjoyed flying having received her pilot's license in 2012. She also enjoyed fishing and target shooting at the shooting range. She and Bruce had a special love for their beloved cat Tonkus. Lisa had a deep desire and passion to know God and His will, and it reflected in her life. She was especially interested in Bible prophecy as it relates to today's times. Survivors include her husband, Bruce Buckner, whom she married December 11, 1993 in Little Rock, Ark.; siblings, Wayne Mahfouz of Hot Springs, Ark., Ronnie Mahfouz of Monticello, Ark., Virginia Robertson (Al) of Maumelle, Ark., Jennifer Keahey (Bob) of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Michael Mahfouz (Ines) of Maumelle, Ark.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, Ark. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. Kenny Culpepper officiating. Burial will be at Dermott Cemetery. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Tennessee Oncology and UMC in Lebanon, Tenn. and UAMS in Little Rock, Ark. who worked tirelessly to care for Lisa. A special thanks to Jaime Alverson, family member and nurse for being there for us and making Lisa's room more like home by bringing special comfort items and Heather Alverson, an Oncology nurse, who worked tirelessly to help walk the family through Lisa's last days.
