Refus Talbert Caldwell, Sr., age 87, of Houston, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017. He was born September 22, 1929 in Tishomingo County, Mississippi, a son of Tom Caldwell and Pearl Gasaway Caldwell. He was a Baptist Preacher and a member of First Baptist Church of Perryville, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife, Minnie Lea Moore Caldwell; children, Refus Caldwell Jr. and Chereyl Caldwell of Guy, Arkansas, Marty Caldwell of Benton, Arkansas, Lynette Caldwell Rose and Max Rose of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, and Martha Caldwell McClure and John McClure of Hardy, Arkansas; grandchildren, Lori and Daniel Case of Glen Burnie, Maryland, James Caldwell of Greenbrier, Christy and Jeff Palmer of Benton, Leslie and Joe Hester of Benton, Matthew and Stephanie Rose of Walnut Ridge, Michael and Jessica Rose of Little Rock, Maegan and Joseph Holloway of Hardy, and Ian McClure of Hardy; great grandchildren, Elijah, Samson, and Sarah Case, Cameron and Jared Palmer, Hannah Kuhlman, and Andie Hester, Maddox and McKenzie Rose, and Gracie and Max Rose; three brothers, Lester Caldwell, Tommy Caldwell, and Earl Caldwell; and three sisters, Reba Hillenburg, Juanita Reyna, and Geneva Keller. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Minnie Louise Caldwell; five brothers, Cecil Caldwell, Fletcher Caldwell, Chester Caldwell, Thomas Edwin Caldwell, and Cleburn Caldwell; and two sisters, Ouida Baxley and Pearl Caldwell. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 23, at Harris Chapel with Rev. Dennis Corder and Rev. Dusty Day officiating. Burial will be at McGhee Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
