MR. JOHN DAVID FARMER, 66, of Little Rock passed away at the Little Rock VA Hospital on Monday, June 19, 2017. He was born on Dec. 1, 1950 to the late Mattie Dell Farmer-Forte and Sam Mosley in Crawford, Miss. He was raised by his grandparents Freeman and Lillie Farmer. John graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1969. He became a certified mechanic. He enlisted in the Army on Dec. 12, 1970. While in the army he became a certified helicopter mechanic. He served in Vietnam and received a number of medals and accommodations. After his honorable discharge on Dec. 10, 1973, he returned to Higgins, Ark., and worked for a number of local employers in Little Rock until his health failed. He was preceded in death by his grandparents;his mother and father; his stepfather James Forte Jr.; five siblings: Lillie Ruth Farmer, Rose Ashley, James Forte, Shelia Forte, and Vickie Forte. He leaves to cherish his memories to: a daughter, Katrinia Sims (Walter) of Little Rock, three brothers: Paul Forte of Little Rock, Kenneth Forte (Lori) of Nashville, Tenn., and Anthony Forte of Little Rock; three sisters: Dorothy Oliver of Pine Bluff; Betty Forte of Irving, Texas, and Susan Forte of Sweet Home, Ark.; a god sister, Wanda Neal of Pine Bluff, Ark., and a very special aunt, Ms. Annie Farmer of Higgins, Ark. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Higgins, Ark., Rev. Kenneth Forte, officiating.
