William L Gwin
William L. Gwin, 86, of Jacksonville, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017. He was born in Little Rock on September 26, 1930, the oldest child of Luther and Juanita Gwin. Bill served honorably in the United States Air Force, was an itinerant preacher, and a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 59 years, Emma Jean Harkey Gwin; siblings, Nettie June Padgett, Riley Edwin Gwin, and Barbara Davidson. He is survived by his children, Diana Anthony (Robert), Kenneth Gwin (Paula), and Sheila Johnson (Steven); grandchildren, Justin Gwin (Mary), Kasey Claypool (Bryan), Simon Anthony (Kayley), Molly Johnson and Zachary Johnson; great-grandchildren Hannah Claypool and Samuel Gwin; siblings, Ann McKenzie (Duke), Suzy Burson (Bill), and Russell Gwin.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 29 at 12 noon at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street in Jacksonville. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Sumner Cemetery in Cabot. Online guest book is available at www.anaturalstatefuneralservice.com.
