Kathy Sue Davis, age 58, a long time resident of Bismarck and Caddo Valley, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia, after a long illness with dementia. Kathy worked for many years as a mental health counselor with Community Counseling Services helping people and their families with mental health issues. She later sold insurance in Arkadelphia. Kathy was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, (known by her grandchildren as "Gabby" and "Babe"), sister, aunt and friend. She loved her family and was always quick with a story about her sons and grandkids. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family at Lake DeGray and Ouachita River. She would rarely pass a thrift store without stopping and shopping. Kathy was preceded in death by her step-father, Donald L. Jones and one brother. Survivors are her husband of 40 years, Paris Davis of Caddo Valley, two sons, Paris Lee (Dania) Davis Jr. of Tampa, FL, and Brent (Emily) Davis of Arkadelphia, her mother, Faye (Ray) Hughes of Bismarck, one sister, Sheila (Jeff) Hooper of Jessieville, five grandchildren, Connor, Lilly, Simon, Jaden and Jordan, nieces and nephews, Brittany Watkins, Mallory and Colton Hooper, Chad Harris and Paul Williams. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Cansler officiating. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery at Bismarck. Pallbearers are Dennis Rowe, Tony Bell, Brent Calhoun, Traylon Page, Bill Wright and Marty Neel. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Bennett and Jimmy Malcom. The family would like to give special thanks to Kathy's caregivers, Shanna Porchia, Debbie Cox, Sara Janis and the entire staff of Twin Rivers in Arkadelphia.
