Donald Wayne Roberts Sr.

Donald Wayne Roberts Sr., 62, of Newport died Tuesday, February 28, 2017. He was born November 12, 1954 in Newport to the late Lloyd Junior and Frances Evelyn Pridmore Roberts. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newport. Mr. Roberts was a master electrician and worked for Cash River Valley Electric at the Nucor Steel Plant. Mr. Roberts started his career at Rutledge Electric in Newport. He also worked for Norandol in Newport and in the oil fields. He loved to hunt and fish and was a proud father and grandfather. Mr. Roberts had a great sense of humor and was known as a practical joker. In addition to his parents, Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his grandparents, Franklin and Gracie Mae Pridmore and a brother, Calvin Roberts. Mr. Roberts is survived by his children, Donald W. Roberts, Jr. of Maumelle, Jennifer Brady of Walnut Ridge and Melissa Stokes of Newport; his sisters, Phyllis Baldwin of Cabot, Patty Castleberry of Jacksonville, Brenda Carter of Farriday, Louisiana and Linda Burlison of North Little Rock and six grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with burial following at Sand Hill Cemetery near Newport. Arrangements are by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816.
