Troy Wallace Burson Jr.

Troy Wallace Burson Jr., 80, of Benton, joined his wife of 58 years, Jewel Dean Burson in heaven, March 2, 2017. He was born November 27, 1936 in El Dorado, Arkansas to the late Troy and Marie Burson. Troy was retired from Reynolds Metal Company and Worsley Aluminum of Bunbury Western Australia. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Benton, The Dixie Car Club and a long time generous supporter of the Arkansas Childrens Hospital and St Judes Hospital and Research Center. Troy is survived by three children, Denise Brown (David), David Burson (Jo), Robert Burson (Leah) of Benton; six grandchildren, Heather Trammel, Dave Burson, Brad Barker (Kristin), Haley Burson, Dustin Burson (Vanessa), Jake Burson; five great-grandchildren, Brock and Caroline Trammel and Brantley, Braylin and Braxton Barker. He is also survived by his sister, Anita Owens (Olin) and brother, Ronnie Burson, (Peggy); sisters-in-law, Charlene Turner and Myrtle Westbrook; and a number of family members and friends. Troy, also known as "Poppa Troy" by many, spent most of his spare time outdoors. He loved to go camping and fishing at Millwood, hunting, working in his garden, restoring antique cars, taking road trips in his motorhome and spending time with his family. Some of his family's best memories were made at the lake or working by his side in his shop or garden. Pallbearers are Dave Burson, Brad Barker, Dustin Burson, Jake Burson, Brock Trammel and Steve Hollowell. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Ten Mile Cemetery in Benton, conducted by Bro. Bob Farrow.
