Pamela Weiler, 68, passed away peacefully on March 1st, 2017 at her home in Fort Smith, Ark. She was born on Nov. 10, 1948 in Little Rock, Ark., to Richard and Margaret Elgin. Pam was their only child, which is one reason she said she wanted a big family. She raised her four children in Fort Smith where she was a member of First United Methodist Church. Pam dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. She also gave back to the community by serving on the PTA Boards of all the children's schools, the Young Women's Community Guild, Junior League, on the Mayor's Teen Task Force, and Oak Cemetery Board of Directors. For this and her general kindness she received the Mayor's Good Neighbor Award. Pam loved her family, cooking, needlepoint, knitting, decorating, and sports, especially rooting for the Razorbacks. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Lorri, and her granddaughter, Sailor Burris. She is survived by her stepmother, Evelyn Elgin of Little Rock; ex-husband, Robert Weiler Jr. of Maumelle; her children Kerri and husband Robert Burris of Fort Smith, Blake and wife Kim of Fort Smith, and Creed and wife Silke of Leipzig, Germany; five grandchildren, Breck and Brittlyn Burris, Remington and Sophie Grace Weiler, and Everett Weiler; and her dog, Rebel. The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5:30-7 p.m. The funeral will take place at First United Methodist in Fort Smith at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7. Graveside service will be immediately following the funeral in Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald Family Room of Fort Smith, and First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith.
