Cora Lee Roper

Cora Lee Roper, age 72, passed away at her home on Friday, March 3, 2017, in Johnson, Ark. She was born on March 8, 1944, in Olive Hill, Ky., to Fred and Ebla Rowe. She was preceded in death by her two sons, David Messer and Doug Messer. She was a lover of antiques and enjoyed repurposing old items. She spent her working career as a Garmage chef in Las Vegas, Nev. She loved her family and was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her husband of nearly thirty years, Kenneth Roper of the home; one daughter, Spring Knott of Pineville, Mo.; three sons, Glenn Messer of the home, Matthew Messer and partner Kelly of Johnson, Ark., and Tommy Roper and wife Tina of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Mabel Paul of Atlanta, Ga.; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pug Rescue of NWA at www.pugsugottasave.org.
