Dorothy Colvett of Conway passed away surrounded by family in the early evening of March 4, 2017. She was eclectic, an artist, writer, pianist, daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, collector, goof ball, and bibliophile. Her manner was always cheerful, gentle, and tolerant towards strangers and loved ones. Not enough good things could be said about this woman. She was born in Board Camp, Ark., on July 30, 1922 to Toby and Lily Peters. She lived in Board Camp Ark. Then she moved to Paris where she met her husband Roy Colvett. She then focused on building her family. Later in life, she moved to Conway. She is preceded in death by Toby Peters, Lily Peters, and Roy Colvett. She is also preceded in death by her beloved pets Sherman, Barney, Chester, Smokey, Coolio, Mickey, Molly, Jessie, Tiger, Huey, Weirdy, Ralph, Killer, Alphy, Trixie, Annie, Snoopy, Sheba, Tramp and Ruby. She is survived by her children Madelon Cheatham of Russellville, Beckie (Dean) McElhaney of Conway, John (Phyllis) Colvett of Oregon City, Ore., and Toby Colvett of Corpus Christi, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren Camilla Cheatham, Regina Bridges, Leslie Grooms, Morgan Thomas, Paige Thomas, and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the ASPCA at their web site aspca.org. There will be a private service at a later date.
