Jacquelin "Jackie" Dyer was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior on March 6, 2017. Jacqueline Simpson Dyer was born on November 16, 1929 to Henry and Buena Simpson in Pine Valley, Oklahoma. The family moved to Dierks, Arkansas when she was a child where she later met the love of her life, JC Dyer. Jackie and JC spent over 65 years together raising their family. Jackie enjoyed her family, her church, and trail riding trips with JC in their younger years. Jackie was preceded in death by her loving husband JC, her parents, and her brother Travis Simpson. She is survived by her daughters, Judy Blalock and husband Rick of Plain Dealing, Louisiana, Jane Dyer of Ashdown, Arkansas; grand-daughters, Amy Pope and her husband Jeff of Benton, Louisiana, Jenna Kenney and her husband Michael of Nashville; five great-grandchildren, Ian and Ethan Pope, Zane, Yvette, and Luxi Kenney; along with three grand-children that she gained later in life and came to love, Johnean Cobb, Jamie Testa, and John Blalock. Lifelong friends, Bobby and Marcille Dallas of Nashville. Jackie spent her adult life making a home and raising children. She was active in the First Baptist Church music program, including singing in the choir, playing the piano and organ, and acting as the Choir Director for a number of years. Jackie loved her Sunday School class and could always be counted on for bringing food or helping her church family whenever it was needed. Aside from her church activities, Jackie was an active member of the Junior Auxiliary for several years and served as the PTA President. Jackie will be missed greatly by her family and friends. Even after she had moved to the Nashville Nursing Home, she entertained many visitors, including her grand-dog Dutch, who became a favorite with the other residents. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all who took such wonderful care of our mother and grandmother in these last few years: the staff at the Nashville Nursing Home, the staff at Howard County Memorial, Dierksen Hospice, Dr. John Hearnsberger, Dr. John Sayer, and Dr. Clay Ferguson. Funeral services, officiated by both Dr. David Blasé and Pastor Kevin Sartin, will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Nashville with visitation being held on Friday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Nashville Funeral Home. Interment will be in Restland Memorial Park Cemetery. You may send the family an online sympathy message to www.nashvillefh.com. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Nashville or the charity of the givers choice.
