Martha Sue Wynns, age 90, of North Little Rock, formerly of Magnolia, died Sunday, March 5, 2017. She was born May 10, 1926 in Magnolia to William Edward and Lorene Roper Samuel. Cherishing her memory are her daughter, Suzanne Pate and her husband Jim of North Little Rock; her two grandsons, Michael Pate and his wife Brandy of Conway and Matt Pate and his wife Stephanie of North Little Rock; five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Carly, Carter, Pierce, and Presley Pate. Also surviving are her sisters in law, Helen Samuel, Dinah Wynns, and Carol Jean Pickering as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy Wynns, and her brothers Noble and Richard Samuel. Sue was very devoted to her family and her church. She attended First Baptist Church and later in life Central Baptist Church in Magnolia. She retired after working for the Soil Conservation Service and the Criminal Investigation Service. She loved her animals, especially her cat Prissy Wynns, going to bible study, playing the piano, and cooking for her family and friends. Some of her family's favorite memories will be sitting on the piano bench singing along while she played gospel music. Sue was a great cook. Her family looked forward to every meal she prepared. The favorites were roast, chicken and dressing, chocolate cake, lemon icebox pie, and her famous cornbread. Even into the last years of her life, Sue loved visiting with her family the most. When they walked into the room her face lit up and she loved to interact with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who loved her. Sue will be remembered by her strong faith, unceasing prayer, and her love and devotion for family and friends. Visitation with the family will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 9th at First Baptist Church Chapel with funeral services following at 10:30 a.m. with Bro. David Watkins officiating. Burial will be at Magnolia City Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Columbia County Animal Protection Society, P.O.
