Patty "Sue" Stracener, age 90, finished her race on Monday March 6, 2017. Sue was born to Harvey Jefferson and Belma Gladys (Price) Wallace on August 12, 1926 in Sidon, Arkansas. After graduation from Rosebud High, Sue went to Michigan to live with her aunt Vera and worked with Redmans Manufacturing, building airplane motors for our country during the war. A proud member of the greatest society who loved her God and Country. Benjamin Reid and Patty Sue were married in Searcy on March 15th, 1946 after he returned from World War ll. They celebrated 59 years of marriage before his death April 11, 2004. They have two surviving children, Deborah Lynn Harden and husband Danny of Searcy and David Glynn Stracener and wife Karla of Searcy. She was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth Wayne Stracener and Billy Reid Stracener and one grandson, Benjamin Paul Stracener. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Sue had eight siblings. Five preceded her in death, Johnny Neal Wallace, Wanda Lou Fulmer, Linda Ruth Wallace, Kathy Rongey Foster and Jerrell Wallace. Three surviving her, Jim Wallace of Austin, Texas, Deanna Hackler of Mesquite, Texas and Greg Wallace of Humble, Texas. After their marriage, Sue worked with the International Shoe Company for 29 years retiring in 1979. Sue was a dedicated Christian and faithful member of the Airport Loop Church of Christ. She taught Sunday school for many years and on Sunday's her table was full of good food to serve ministers and their families. She was a lifetime member of DAV auxiliary, VFW and American Legion with over Five hundred hours of volunteer work. Patty Sue served two years as the state Chaplin of the women's DAV and five years as Chaplin for the White County women's DAV. Sue lived on Moore Avenue for over 60 years. The entire family has celebrated many fun times in her living room and around the kitchen and dining tables having our traditional biscuits and chocolate. You always encountered hospitality in her home. She had the heart of a servant and will be greatly missed. She was a true Proverbs 31 woman. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. A Visitation will be held Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
