Rodney E. Land, age 87, of Fayetteville passed away Sunday March 5, 2017. He was born May 15, 1929 in Winslow, Arkansas to Earl and Virginia Hanna Land. He is a member of Hyland Park Assembly of God Church in Fayetteville. Was preceded in death by his parents: one sister, Earlene Land Stephens; brother, Tommy Land and his granddaughter, Kellie Renee Land. Rodney will be remembered in many ways, a loving, caring, personable and wise man always available to help and give support or guidance to all. He loved his family, friends and church. He was gifted with remembering names of almost everyone he met. He moved from Winslow to Fayetteville for this senior year and graduated from FHS in 1947. He met the love of his life in 1948 and married February 24, 1950. They shared a wonderful life together. He served in the Army National Guard during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1952. After retiring from Standard Register he enjoyed his retirement with Ruth, his family and church. He will be remembered with love. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth Land; daughter, Debbie Land McNair and John of Fayetteville; son, Rodney P. Land and Carol of Fayetteville, seven grandchildren, Angela DeWitt DeLille and Justin, Tim Land, Kendra, Daniel, Ryan, Tate and Tess McNair; three great-grandchildren, Jackson DeLille, Blaykeli and Brayson McNair. Visitation will be 5–7 p.m. Thursday March 9, 2017 at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hyland Park Assembly of God Church in Fayetteville with burial to follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
