Clarence "Chuck" Edward Irvin, 76, of Springdale, Ark., passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Born on September 6, 1940, in Bessville, Mo., the son of the late Hattie Mae (Hale) and Shellie Roy Irvin, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Pearley Irvin, Shellie Irvin, Jr., Jerome Irvin and Curtis Irvin, and one sister Beulah McKenna. Chuck worked as a commercial pilot, flight instructor, and instructor trainer for over 40 years. His greatest joy in life was flying, and a goal of his was to be the oldest flying pilot in Arkansas. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved him, including his three sons, Michael Irvin of Woodbridge, Va., Kenneth Irvin of Riverside, Mo., and Douglas Irvin of Belton, Mo.; granddaughter Emma Irvin of Alexandria, Va.; two brothers, Otho (and Edna) Irvin of Marble Hill and Ronnie (and Floyce) Irvin of Patton, Mo.; four sisters, Lola Gibson of Marquand, Mo., Violet Hazelwood of Farmington, Mary Ferguson of New Jersey, and Glenda Davis of Desoto, Mo. A memorial service will be held 9 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Hutchings Funeral Chapel, 203 Bess St., Marble Hill, Mo. 63764.
