Eppie Barnette

Eppie D. Barnette, age 95, of Benton, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017. She was born March 27, 1921 in Benton, Ark. Mrs. Barnette was a retired cafeteria worker for the Benton Public Schools and a member of Grape Chapel Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Bessie Harris; husband, Walker Elson Barnette; brothers, J.T. Harris, Charlie Harris and Roscoe Harris; sister, Betty Harris; son-in-law, Phillip Neighbors; granddaughter, Charlotte Dean Barnette Low and an infant grandson. She is survived by a son, Johnny Barnette (Joy) of Arbuckle, California; two daughters, Rose Neighbors and Ann Woodall (David) all of Benton; sister, Ruby James Nalley of Benton; seven grandsons, Todd Neighbors, James Walker Neighbors, Cass Neighbors and Chet Woodall all of Benton, Dustin Barnette of Allentown, Pa., Nicholas Barnette of Lehi, Utah and Brian Barnette of Reno, Nev., and twenty great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 20 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 21 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Smith Rosemont Cemetery.
