Joe David Simmons

Joe David Simmons, age 96, of Banks, Ark., died Friday, March 24, at Benton, Ark. Born April 26, 1920, in Banks, Ark., a son of the late David H. Simmons and Gracie Erwin Simmons. He was a retired chemical plant foreman at the Pine Bluff Arsenal, a member of Wagnon United Methodist Church, and a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Lavender Simmons who died December 7, 1977. Survivors are one son, Joe Don Simmons and spouse Sheila of Benton, AR., one daughter, Gertie Mae Johnson of Santa Cruz, CA., four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 27, at Frazer's Chapel. Burial in Williams Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. Visitation 1 p.m. until service time Monday, March 27, at Frazer's.
