Arlen Eugene Casteel

Arlen Eugene Casteel of McGehee, Ark., passed away Monday, March 27, 2017. He was born December 8, 1937 in Dermott, Ark., to the late Leon and Ruby Hoover Casteel. Arlen was a longtime AG pilot for over 40 years, and a truck driver for over 10 years. He loved to sing karaoke classic country and southern gospel music. Arlen loved spending time with his family and others. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jake Dylan Casteel. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Biggs Casteel; son, Greg (JoDee) Casteel of Aspen, Colo.; daughter, Ann Casteel Pugh of Little Rock, Ark.; sister, Carolyn Livingston of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; grandchildren, Carole (Justin) Pamplin, Callie Jo (Chris) Lewis, Krystal (Cory) Hornaday, Laura Ashton Casteel, Grant Gill and three great-grandsons. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, Ark. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, Ark., with Rev. Gary Casteel and Rev. Ben White officiating. Burial will be held at Dermott Cemetery in Dermott, Ark. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McGehee Church of the Nazarene, 705 Seamans Street, McGehee, Ark. 71654.
