Phyllis Priscilla Carter, 83, a resident of Mabelvale, formerly of London, died Monday, March 27, 2017, at the Saline County Memorial Hospital in Benton. She was born May 18, 1933, at London. She many worked for many years as a manager for Motel 6 in Little Rock and she attended the Olive Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed her dogs and flower gardening and was preceded in death by her mother, Inos Verdell Kurtz and a sister, Martha Flud. Survivors include her husband, Ned Long of Mabelvale; two sons, Fred Boswell of Conway and Gerald Boswell of Little Rock; a daughter, Carolyn Marie Johnson of Hot Springs; three sisters, Rachel Moss of Wichita, Kansas, Katie Whorton of London and Dora Carolyn Brown of Birmingham, Alabama; and several grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Humphrey Chapel with the Rev. Larry Pless officiating. Burial will be in East Point Cemetery at Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
