Betty Virginia Parnell Duncan, 92, of Jonesboro, Ark. and formerly of Osceola, Ark., went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 28, 2017. She was born in Lonoke County on May 25, 1925. She attended ASU. Her life was devoted to her relationship with Christ and to raising her children to love the Lord as she did. She was known for her heart of service, her zeal, and her nurturing spirit, always encouraging others to pursue Christ. Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Charles Jeffery Duncan, a WWII veteran and master plumber, seven brothers, and six sisters. She is also preceded in death by one daughter, Gwendolyn Duncan Richards, and grandson Stephen Jeffery Duncan. She is survived by four children; Charles Duncan Sr. of Osceola, Phillip Duncan of Little Rock, Wayne Duncan of Cabot, and Rebekah Roberson of Fairfield Bay; fourteen surviving grandchildren, Charles Duncan Jr., Bridget Shemwell, Jason Duncan, Marlo Sturkie, Suzanne Bartolomei, Scott Duncan, Sheri Martin, Crystal Sullivan, Ashley Duncan, Laura Richards, Lisa Buttgen, Katherine Rigney, Melissa Duncan, and Marissa Lucas; seven great-grandchildren, and a host of other nieces, nephews, and friends. Her celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on March 31, 2017 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas, with burial immediately following at Rest Hills Memorial Park with Pastor Daniel Rigney officiating.
