Harry Lindsay, 96, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017. Born Edward Harry Lindsay June 11, 1920 in Pine Bluff, he was a son of Edward C. and Floy Ragan Lindsay. Mr. Lindsay was reared and received his early education in Watson Chapel, graduating from Watson Chapel High School in 1938. He worked for Ben Pearson, Co. for 45 years, retiring as their Secretary-Treasurer in 1992. After his retirement, he worked for Haverty's Furniture for several years. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church, where he was a past Chairman of the Administrative Board, teacher in Danho Sunday School Class, and past Chairman of Evangelism Committee and Men's Prayer Breakfast. Mr. Lindsay was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Wallis Lindsay, whom he married March 25, 1967 in Pine Bluff; his parents; brother, Dr. John Lindsay; and sister, Minnie Ruth Lindsay. Survivors include his daughter, Harriet Lindsay of Ypsilanti, Mich.; two sons, Walter Lindsay of Conway, and Lee South of Longville, La.; three grandchildren, Tyler (Kendra) South, Harrison (Tabitha) South and Jackie Lindsay; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Lindsay Manuel of Heber Springs; and dear friend, Sarah Clifton. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2017, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son, with Reverend Mike Morey officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. until service time at Robinson's.
