Charlotte Louise Davenport Wrigley, 87 of Hickory Plains, Arkansas passed away May 10, 2017. She was born in Fergus Falls Minnesota on February 27, 1930 to Lyle and Cora (Weaver) Davenport. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thayne Wrigley, her oldest son, Dan Wrigley, and grandsons, Wade Wrigley and Chad Davis. Also preceding are her siblings: Galdyce Mittlestadt, Lucille Petersen, Warren Davenport and Eugene Davenport. She surely had an amazing heavenly welcome. Left to cherish her memory are daughters Debora Carpenter (Charles Oldham) and Kathy (Bo) Thompson; daughter in law Rachel Lynch Wrigley (Tim Karl); sons Chuck Wrigley (Julie) and Steve Wrigley (Kristen); and grandchildren Christabelle Carpenter Krajewski, Shaunna Wrigley (Chad) Buck, Deven Wrigley (Josh) Smith, Dusty Wrigley, Rhonda Wrigley Bolin, Sallie Wrigley, Ryan Wrigley, Alexis Wrigley, Clint Davis, Spencer Wrigley, and Emily Wrigley. She also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren, a brother, Don Davenport of Fergus Falls and many nieces, nephews and loving friends. Charlotte grew up on a family farm in Fergus Falls and graduated from Morris Ag School in 1947. She was known for her beautiful singing voice and sang with her brothers and sisters. For many years during her adult life she sang in church and for weddings. She married Thayne in 1949 and together with their first child, Debora, they moved to Arkansas to buy a farm in 1953. Only 23 years old and so far from her family, she still became the perfect farmer's wife raising five children, cooking three meals a day, butchering livestock, running for equipment parts and always being in church on Sunday. At age 47 she attended Foothills Vo-Tech in Searcy to pursue LPN training. She practiced in nursing homes and as elementary school nurse in Des Arc for many years until she had to retire to care for her husband in his last days. Much of the medicine she handed out was in the form of hugs. She was an awesome lady who shared her love of fun along with her wise counsel – if you asked for it. She will be greatly missed. Memorials may be made to: Margaret Fisher Literacy Challenge at Farmers and Merchants Bank in Des Arc. The family will receive friends at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe from 10 till 12 noon Saturday morning, May 13th. The funeral will be held at Hickory Plains Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Interment will be in Hickory Plains Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home. www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
