Eldo Wayne Ruby, 89, of Hensley, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 10, 2017 at 2:32 p.m. Eldo was born on October 11, 1927 to Elias and Mary Ruby in Monticello, California, the youngest of six children. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Francene (Schalchlin) Ruby; his daughters, Valorie Ellis (Paul), Rachel Lindstrom (Gregory), Glenda King (Scott) and Marci Maddox (Michael); 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Eldo worked as a purchasing agent for forty years at Survival Systems of San Diego. He enjoyed traveling to visit family and woodworking in his workshop after his retirement. He was a member of River of Life Assembly of God Church in Mabelvale where he played guitar in the Praise and Worship Team. He was known by the children of the church as the "Candy Man" because he always had pockets full of Starbursts that he would hand out after the service. Services will be Monday, May 15 at 1 p.m., preceded by visitation beginning at 12 noon, at River of Life Assembly of God, officiated by Rev. Tony Minick. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 320 Executive Ct., Little Rock, Ark. 72205.
