Clenis Dean Davidson, age 86, of Beebe was born March 15, 1931 in Thida, Ark., to Arthur Andrew and Rilla (Fuller) Davidson and he passed away Friday May 12, 2017. Dean joined the Navy by his 18th birthday. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. When he returned home, Dean and Norma were married. As a hard working and natural born entrepreneur and businessman, he opened the first Otasco in Beebe in 1974, began Davidson Auto Sales in 1977 and helped establish the Central Arkansas Auto Auction. As Dean grew older, he affectionately became known as "Pap" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. At the age of 85, Dean was baptized into the Church of Christ. Dean is survived by his son, Roger Davidson and wife, Brenda, two daughters, Velda Price and husband, Lee, Gail Carter and husband, Jerry; five grandchildren, Jamie (Davidson) Simmons and husband, Corey, Clint Davidson and wife, Julie, Lee Carter, Brad Carter and wife, Jamie, Matthew Price and wife, Amber; 13 great-grandchildren, Alicea, Lane, Abby, Jackson, Colt, Jax, Kahil, Kennedy, Kimber, Kash, Tristan, Natalie, and Luke; three brothers, Marvin Davidson and wife, Janice, Kenneth Dale Davidson, W.A. Davidson and wife, Jessie; three sisters, Violet Nash, Joy Epperson, and Janet Rochner and husband Ricky. Dean is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Norma June(Brown) Davidson, his parents, infant brother, Gerald Wayne Davidson; two brother-in-laws, H. C. Nash and Paul Epperson. Dean's friends are invited to spend time with him and sign his guestbook starting Monday, May 15, 2017 at 8:30-1 p.m. at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe. A Graveside Service will follow at 2 p.m. at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Beebe. The family invites everyone to Dean's home immediately following the service.
